Eine Sanierung des Montforthauses aus den 1970er Jahren war nach eingehender Prüfung nicht sinnvoll. Stattdessen erfolgte der Neubau eines Konzert- und Kongresshauses an derselben Stelle. Beim europaweiten Wettbewerb überzeugte der Entwurf von Hascher Jehle und Mitiska Wäger Architekten mit sensibler Modellierung des Volumens ins Altstadtgefüge.

Schule und Dorfsaal wurden oberhalb des Kirchplatzes von Laterns neu gebaut. Die einfachen, kompakten Bauten fügen sich selbstverständlich in die Dorfstruktur. Errichtet wurden die Passivhäuser mit Fichten- und Weißtannenholz aus dem gemeindeeigenen Wald.

The privileged location directly on Lake Constance and right in the center of Bregenz determines the orientation of the buildings. The whole complex consists of three buildings offering a total of 54 apartments. The apartments that are set on a base can be reached by porches whereas the apartments facing west have loggias.

The workshop and residential building of a former textile company fulfilled all the requirements for a town hall due to its location at the town centre. The course of the Mühlebach flowing below the three-storey hall is noticeable throughout the building. While the glazed front construction provides access to a public service zone, the back part of it accommodates the offices, the meeting rooms as well as the seminar and lecture room.
