Aufgrund des schlechten baulichen Zustands der Schulgebäude aus den 1960er/70er Jahren war eine Sanierung notwendig geworden. Als erster von drei Bauabschnitten wurde 2013 die Mittelschule fertiggestellt. Energiekonzept: kontrollierte Be- und Entlüftung, Passivhaus-Standard, Photovoltaik- und Solaranlage.

Zwischen Krankenhaus und Sozialzentrum steht dieses Mehrgenerationenwohnhaus mit barrierefreien, betreubaren Einheiten und integriertem Kindergarten. Großes Augenmerk wurde auf die Qualität des gemeinsamen Außenraums gelegt. Das Gebäude wurde als Passivhaus errichtet.

Farmhouses with barns are rare in Walgau. This one from 1841 is largely preserved in its structure and materialisation. The complex and function-related structure across different levels reappears on the inside. Old and new – made from steel – can clearly be distinguished.

The bridge support structure, which is made of concrete, ensures the safe passage of pedestrians and cyclists; it also moves the supporting structure upwards, and the irregularly arranged diagonal tension and compression rods form an open bridge house.

Multipurpose Building Thüringerberg

The wooden house accommodates the kindergarten and club rooms. The roof of the fire brigade’s massive, concrete vehicle hall is a play area for children. This is a formative building for the village in every aspect.

The new buildings with their clear design and reduced materiality are a contrast to the existing buildings. A cross is incised into the front wall of the chapel made of exposed concrete. An urn wall was built parallel to the old cemetery wall. Other features of the cemetery are a well, the walk-through chapel and finally a communal grave.

The workshop and residential building of a former textile company fulfilled all the requirements for a town hall due to its location at the town centre. The course of the Mühlebach flowing below the three-storey hall is noticeable throughout the building. While the glazed front construction provides access to a public service zone, the back part of it accommodates the offices, the meeting rooms as well as the seminar and lecture room.
