Spieljochbahn cable car

Geolser Straße 39, 6264 Fügenberg, A
Architecture: BESTO ZT GmbH (2017) Builder-owner: Fügen Bergbahn GesmbH & Co KG Accessibility: The valley station is also accessible with public transport via the Zillertalbahn railway. TIP: From the mountain station, there is an easy, barrier-free hike to the summit cross on the Spieljoch (approx. 20 min).

With the construction of the new Spieljochbahn, two station buildings with spacious retail and restaurant areas were created in the Zillertal ski resort, each designed to react to its respective location. The three-story valley station in the densely built area consists of several rounded, interlocking cuboids with glazed facades and vertical wooden slats. The mountain station's extensive space requirements are accommodated in an amorphous structure embedded in the landscape with a double-curved wooden shingle facade.
